In the education sector in Jammu and Kashmir, the center has helped strengthen the infrastructure of education in the Jammu and Kashmir and even the state of power in the J&K. During his last tenure, the theft of electricity has been reduced and is aimed to be as small as only 15% even under the Uday scheme.
Moreover, the RAPDRP which is a program on urban electrification under which the company Akon is working in Jammu and some company is ensuring this in Kashmir.
In terms of rural electrification, DDUGY is working and now tender-based systems are happening in the state and PSUs have been requested to work in the inaccessible state and we will be aiming at 100% electrification especially because of the 11000-crore package gifted by the prime minister.
Another area where the J&K is now working upon is the communication systems especially the roads in the state wherein the contractors have been informed of rules and regulations. In fact, the center has given a package worth 42000 crores because of which the national highways are being strengthened especially the link to Kashmir.
The Nashri tunnel has been started and the link from Udhampur to Banihal and the link to Ladakh is also being made now. Many small hamlets are also being linked to the mainstream areas and now even tourism infrastructure is being constructed with a special focus on Jammu this time. Dr. Singh claims that the J&K has benefitted a lot ever since the BJP government has come to power.
